Moms Talk: What's Your Ideal Affordable Vacation?

There are just so many ways to stay and so many things to do that it can be a perfect trip for any family. If you see my sister, you should ask her how the Tooth Fairy ever found the tooth that flew out of the car window and ended up somewhere along the highway after I accidentally kicked her. As a child, my family would often stay at the condo that belonged to my aunt and uncle. I am a big proponent of the family "staycation. Carm, Mom of a pre-teen, teenagers and adult child. Sitting around the fire pit in the backyard making s'mores, lounging in the living room watching an old movie or just putsing in the garden. Every summer we discover something new and then we get reaquainted with home. Personally, I am a big fan of a New Hampshire vacation. We'd spend the weekend running around Waterville Valley, trying to spot local wildlife (namely the black bears that feasted in the dumpsters at night), and making memories of lots of cousins piled into a small bedroom. We always seem to be on the road somewhere.

Remembering the past « In touch….with the Litchfield Hills

Wether it was hiking the many hiking trails in the region, or spending quality time at the lakes, my summer was loaded with  many memories I would never forget. One memory was a  Christmas tradition which was visiting Christmas  Village, which is operated by the Parks & Recreation department. A visit with the elves always had me fascinated, though not as fascinated as my visit with Mrs. Christmas Village is a family delight and is well worth the wait, which is sometimes hours long. Your first stop is a visit with Santa and if you were a good little boy or girl, you received a thoughtful gift from him made by the elves which were in the next house over. This was where I made the most of my childhood growing up. I got to connect with so many wonderful people who I got to grow up with. Though don’t worry, they supply a warm fire for you to stand around to keep warm as well as offer you delicious hot chocolate which you can purchase for a small fee. What a charming woman she is.  ......
