Santa Clara University's de Saisset Museum Explores Homelessness from the New ...

Hobos to Street People: Artists’ Responses to Homelessness from the New Deal to the Present compares artistic interpretations of homelessness from the Dust Bowl migrants of the 1930s to the stigmatized street people of today—with a focus on... This summer the de Saisset Museum opens four thought-provoking exhibitions that examine how artists have responded to homelessness since the 1930s. Through painting, printmaking, photography, and mixed media, Depression-era and contemporary artists offer glimpses of life on the street and call attention to the many similarities between the eras. Featuring works by 30 artists working over the last 75 years, this traveling show documents the tragedy of homelessness and the governments’ role in the crisis. During the Great Depression artists responded to the large numbers of poor and displaced people, often with the support of New Deal programs such as the Works Progress Administration, which funded their efforts to document what was happening... However, with the rise of homelessness in the modern era, artists once again focused their attention on this important issue.

If you are planning a wedding and are lucky enough to be able to work with a wedding planner, or if you can't afford a wedding planner and simply read books about wedding planning, the first thing they'll tell you is "you should stucture your... The wedding ceremony was held at the stunning Mission Santa Clara de Asis located on the Santa Clara University campus. " I tell my brides that all the time, too, partly for the somewhat selfish reason that it makes it that much more interesting to photograph a wedding organized around a theme, and partly because I think it makes the wedding planning a lot more fun... Needless to say, at a wedding planned this well, the couple had their own wedding The place cards were held in place by tiny mission bells. The guest book (designed by Joyce & Brian) had photos from the road trip intermixed with lined pages for the guests' wishes....
