Does anyone remember a movie about an Ice Queen and two children?

Quite a few years ago there was a film about two children, neighbors, a boy and a girl. The boy was taken to the castle of the queen of ice after a sled race, if I remember correctly. The girl has to rescue him, and ONA towers flying reindeer I think to get there.

I think your talking about the Snow Queen. I had never heard of the movie until my girlfriend found her, got all excited and made me look. Kind of a weird movie that you ask me, but I posted a link to the movie on the Yahoo website.

'The Sleeping Beauty' Is Catherine Breillat's Fluid and Florid Fairy Tale ...

Provocateur is the word that seems to come up most, as if critics can’t even find a more English word to depict her unique and challenging portrayals of sexuality and female independence. “Anatomy of Hell” pushed the envelope farther than almost any film of recent memory, while “Sex Is Comedy” and “The Last Mistress” are no less frank in their treatment of sexual politics. This new film, alongside 2009’s “Blue Beard,” may very well be her most enigmatic and subversive work That’s why there seems to be a bit of confusion regarding her recent plunge into the world of fairy tales, as if making “The Sleeping Beauty” can be seen as a jump out of her incendiary milieu and into a more “family friendly” style.

Better late than never for leaflet

The leaflet, commissioned by the council’s events committee earlier in the year, aims to give information about highlights in the calendar when local traditions, local food, local history and seaside fun can all be enjoyed. “This shows the council’s commitment to support both local community organisations which stage these events, and local businesses, which can benefit from increased trade as a spin-off. Berwick Town Council’s events committee had come close to shelving the plans after getting frustrated at a delay in its publication. A LEAFLET publicising events around Berwick, Tweedmouth and Spittal has finally been published - two months later than originally planned. Councillor Maurice McNeely, chairman of the events committee, said: “This is a first attempt at what we hope will be an annual publication. However, they decided to press ahead at the eleventh hour and hope the green fold-out leaflet will provide a useful guide to visitors and local residents over the rest of the 2011 season.

Gerda and the Reindeer

One day, however, the mirror broke, and if a sliver of glass from the mirror entered someone’s eye, that person’s soul became evil, if another pierced a heart, that heart grew hard and cold as ice. Karl was startled to hear the ice maiden speak his name, and he was not to know he had set eyes on the Snow Queen. In a big town two children, called Karl and Gerda were very close friends, and even the sweet pea that grew on Karl’s window sill spread across the street to entwine with Gerda’s little rose bush. Winter passed, and one spring afternoon, as Karl and Gerda poured over a book, the little boy told her: “I feel a pain in my heart. One evening Karl was watching the snow drift down, when he noticed a white flake slowly turn into a beautiful ice maiden. In this mirror, a kind face became wicked, a look of hate was reflected as a look of love. ” But, alas, splinters from the shattered mirror had pierced the little boy. Once upon a time a magician made a magic mirror....
