5 million National Science Foundation grant to research chips that could be implanted in the brain to send signals to a prosthetic or paralyzed limb, giving it the full dexterity of an undamaged hand or leg, The San Diego Union-Tribune reported... SAN DIEGO, July 25 (UPI) -- Three U. S. universities were given grants to study sensorimotor neural engineering that would allow the brain to communicate with prosthetic or paralyzed limbs. "We're taking proposals that look forward, that could lead to entirely new concepts and technology, entirely new fields. Sensors in the limbs would return signals to the brain, sending sensations of heat and cold or recognizing changes in texture, researchers said. Brain chip sought to drive paralyzed limbs. "NSF always pursues research at the leading edge," foundation spokesman Josh Chamot said.

The village is lined with snow-white trees laden with fairy lights, and contains a dozen or so buildings including a post office (Santa gets two million letters a year), shops and Santa's inner sanctum, where the bearded one sits and welcomes... The chance to meet the "real" Santa Claus at Christmas in his purpose-built Santa Village sounds too much fun to miss. Why would you head into temperatures of -25C just as a New Zealand summer is heating up. Santa, of course. Santa's Village is about a 20-minute car ride from the centre of the Finnish city of Rovaniemi. Visitors (mainly - don't ask me why - Australians and Italians) use Rovaniemi as a base for visits to Mr Claus' compound which is small and thoroughly commercial (of course) but provides a quintessential Christmas experience. Actually you can go and see him any time, but in summer there won't be snow.

FOR COOKIES, combine cookie mix, contents of peanut butter packet from Mix and egg in large bowl. 1 pk Duncan Hines Peanut Butter Cookie Mix 1 Egg 2 t All-purpose flour Assorted Decorations Ingredients. Dip reindeer cookie cutter in flour. Roll dough with rolling pin out to edges of bag. Place dough in center of bag (do not seal). Place ball of dough in bag. Place flour in jumbo (15×13″) resealable plastic bag. Use scissors to cut bag down center and across ends. Turn plastic back to uncover dough. Form dough into ball. Cookies Ingredients....
